9/14/2007-Veer Right Young Pastor to Release 'Women and Gold' in October
We're very very excited to announce that we're releasing 'Women and Gold', the first full-length cd from Veer Right Young Pastor. The Chicago Reader called them, "unholy kid geniuses" who are "two things most bands aren't -- exciting and promising." and the Wire wrote that," VRYP are a young quartet from Long Beach, California with an intense and splendid approach to waffle dynamics...[their music features] slow, stressed out drones created with a variety of instruments (stringed and unstrung) that tend to devolve into brilliantly repeating figures. Some of the guitar feel reminds me of the great Dreams Of Tall Buildings, but the vocals take this into real unexplored areas." So yeah, we signed ourselves some unholy, brilliant sound explorers. 'Women and Gold' will be available for pre-order from the Leisure Class store shortly.
Veer Right Young Pastor are also embarking on their first east-coast tour in mid-October. Tour dates are still being finalized, but we'll announce a tentative schedule later this week.
We're also going to include a full biography and song samples in our Artists page, but until we get that set up, please visit www.myspace.com/veerrightyoungpastor and listen to them.

6/20/2007- Liz Isenberg Summer Tour with Deertick and Diego Perez
Liz Isenberg has just been added to the Deertick and Diego Perez summer tour. Over the next month plus, the tour will be making stops throughout the west coast, big sky country, the midwest, and even a brief venture into Canada. This marks the first time she will play anywhere west of Minnesota and the her first performance outside of the United States.
Dates and details are available on the 'tour info' page.
4/20/2007- Leisure Fest
We're holding the first ever Leisure Fest this May at the Purple House (109 Bridge Street) in Northampton. Details are still in the works but right now it looks like it's going to be May 18th (and maybe the day before or after). It's going to be a full day of music, a diy arts and crafts fair/tag sale, pancake breakfast, marshmallow roast, short film screenings, food, etc. etc.
Please contact us if you want to be involved in the planning, if you want to play or show work, if you want to cook, or anything. We're not charging admission, but we will be trying to raise money to work on building a small endowment so we can guarantee touring bands gas money at future Purple House shows and keep all events there free. More details will be posted as they become known.
In totally unrelated news, the amazing mp3 blog Said the Gramophone has just included Vio/Mire's 'Wood Splitting' on their site for free download. They also wrote a really nice review of the song. Wood Splitting
4/15/2007- Reviews and Radio

2/24/2007- Liz Isenberg, Vio/Mire: Upcoming Shows
Liz Isenberg and Vio/Mire are each opening very exciting shows for widely known artists.
Vio/Mire plays with Ramona Cordova at Bard College on February 25th. The show also features the final Sea El (Alex Abelson) performance before an indefinite hiatus.
On March 7th, Liz Isenberg is playing with Mirah and the Blow in a free show at NYU. NYU students can get tickets ahead of time, but the general public will have to get them the day of the show.
The show starts at 7:30pm (doors at 7:00pm), and it's being held in the Kimmel Center, E&L Auditorium, 4th Floor.
Then, on March 10, Vio/Mire is having a record-release show and party at the Purple House (Northampton). 'March 2007' is the first Vio/MirŽ release on Leisure Class Records and we're more than a little excited about it.
Liz Isenberg will join as will several other friends. It's free and you can get copies of the first run of the cd with original and fantastic hand-made packaging by Marguerite Keyes. The first run is only going to be about 100, so come and by three so you can sell the extras on ebay next month.
