Installing xGestures
To install xGestures, open the .dmg file you downloaded to
mount it, and then open the file located within. If you are
running Mac OS X 10.4, the xGestures preference pane will
be installed. If you are running Mac OS X 10.3, the package
installer will run since xGestures requires a more
complicated installation for Panther. You may also be
prompted to remove files from previous xGestures versions,
since many of the support files necessary for those
previous versions aren't needed anymore.
Configuring xGestures
All the information you'd ever want or need concerning how
to configure xGestures is available in the xGestures
Documentation. It's the last tab in the xGestures
Preference Pane. If you have any other questions, feel free
to contact me. Me email is in the documentation or on the
Support page.
Uninstalling xGestures
To uninstall xGestures, go to the third tab labeled "About"
in the xGestures preference pane, and click the "Uninstall"
button.
In previous version of xGestures, this button would remove
the program file, preference pane, kernel extension, and
other support files located in the root-level Library
folder. For version 1.4 in Mac OS X 10.4, this removes the
preference pane. The program file is located in the
preference pane bundle, so no other file needs to be
removed. In fact, it's not even really necessary to click
uninstall button. Feel free to trash the preference pane on
your own. In Mac OS X 10.3, this removes the preference
pane and kernel extension located in /Library. Your
administrator password will be required in order to
complete this. Afterwards, to insure that everything has
been unloaded, restart your computer after uninstalling
xGestures.
