Conclusion

What do we have to learn from Johnston's flirtation with innovation? What things does Johnston have to share with the higher education? How has it affected the University? What lessons should Hampshire learn from the Johnston experiences? And how can we concretely apply those lessons? These are the questions I hope to address in this conclusion.

The first section of the conclusion deals with the successes of Johnston that ``deserve to be shared with American higher education''. The second deals with the ways Johnston has influenced the University of Redlands, and the future of the Johnston-Redlands relationship. Finally, the third proposes possible ways Hampshire could respond to the need for new learning and living attitudes.
