A dream of success in the theater

To follow a dream

I have always had a big love for theater. I love to sing and to act and since I was young I have taken the necessary steps to fulfill my dreams of becoming a stage actress. I begged my parents to enroll me in acting and singing workshops to hone my skills and even in school I would always audition for plays.

Fortunately, they are very supportive and only too happy in helping assist in attaining my dream. Sometimes I would not get chosen for these plays or I would only get small roles but it never deterred or discouraged me. I always tell myself that these are just challenges that will help toughen me up for the more difficult steps I will take along the way.

Having the time of your life

When I finished high school I decided to enroll in theater arts in college. I believed that by arming myself with more knowledge I can get a better chance of becoming a successful theater performer. I poured my soul to my studies and deftly divided my time so I can give equal weight to my academics and to involvement in the school theater group.

Some of my friends thought that I may be too driven but I just laugh at their comments and tell them that I am enjoying myself and having the time of my life. To my mind, each step I take leads me closer to my dream so there really is no reason to feel bitter. I have always been a positive person and this attitude has helped me through some of the most stressful moments of my college life.

Despite all of the stress and the hard work I continued to work on my dream – until one day I was given a great opportunity. I was able to get a scholarship in the UK to study in one of the more prestigious acting/theater arts programs in one of the universities in England.

This was quite a big break because I will be given the opportunity to study with some of the great theater arts authorities in Europe in a country that has established a long tradition of excellence in the theater arts. I relished this opportunity and when I did arrive I really applied myself to my studies. I really immersed myself in what I was doing the whole time I was in England. I made great strides in my studies and in my craft. I was able to meet and talk to really influential people in the world of theater arts in England and also had the privilege to talk with successful actors who have acted and sang at the West End.

Studying in another country

I met some really wonderful people during my stay in England. I knew that I established permanent friendships with a number of classmates and even with some of the faculty. I especially treasure my bonds with my mentors in England. They shared themselves with me and the other students and imparted important life lessons that I knew will help in attaining success in my chosen field. I became particularly fond of two of my teachers in University these two women were not only my two favorite teachers they also became very close friends and my inspiration.

I am now back in the US and I really miss the friends that I left while studying in England. Even though we still get to talk to each other over the phone or online, nothing compares seeing them in the flesh and talking to them. My two mentors, who have a special place in my heart, are who I miss the most though. I wanted to show them how much I miss them and how much I appreciate their friendship so I decided to buy flowers for them.

But because of the distance I obviously cannot bring the flowers using the usual means. This meant tapping the services of an online florist in the UK. I decided to use the services of Serenata Flowers, a UK florist that I have heard when I was still in England. They have built a solid reputation for service and quality and prompt flower delivery -- and that I what I wanted. It is very easy to choose flowers on their website and to pay them with your credit card.

Ordering flowers for your mentors

I ordered flowers for my two favorite teachers and I had it sent to their respective homes. I was quite delighted to receive telephone calls from both of them during separate times of the day. They were absolutely delighted with the flowers and wanted me to know how much they appreciated it. I told them that it was the least I can do for what they have given me in return. I told them that when I do get my first theater award I will be dedicating it to both of them. Needless to say, they were absolutely thrilled.
